    Heat flow in general relativity
    (2001-02) Banerjee, A.
A few models of bounded sphere containing heat flux in the radial direction are constructed. These models satisfy the conditions of fit at their boundaries with vaidya's radiating metric. further the casual heat transport equation is considered in the background of one of the above metrics and it is found to be consistent with the inflationary expansion. Our case is more general than that discussed previously by maartens et al.

Non-marginally bound inhomogeneous dust collapse in higher dimensional space-time
    (2002-03-01) Ghosh, S. G.; Banerjee, A.
We investigate the occurrence and nature of a naked singularity in the gravitational collapse of an inhomogeneous dust cloud described by a self-similar higher dimensional Tolman-Bondi space-time. Bound, marginally bound and unbound space-times are analyzed. The degree of inhomogeneity of the collapsing matter necessary to form a naked singularity is given.

Role of Modified Chaplygin Gas in Accelerated Universe
(2011-07-06) Debnath, Ujjal; Banerjee, A.; Chakraborty, Subenoy
In this paper we have considered a model of modified Chaplygin gas and its role in accelerating phase of the universe. We have assumed that the equation of state of this modified model is valid from the radiation era to ΛCDM model. We have used recently developed statefinder parameters in characterizing different phase of the universe diagrammatically.
