Analysis of trapped surfaces in higher dimensional dust collapse
    (2006-04-12) Patil, K. D.
In the present work we analyze the dynamics of apparent horizon in higher dimensional (HD) dust collapse. For this study we have taken in to consideration the two different types of dust models. We propose the concept of ‘trapped range’ of initial data in the different higher dimensional spacetimes. We show that ‘trapped range’ of initial data increases with the increase in dimensions of the spacetimes.

Gravitational collapse of radiating Dyon solution and cosmic censorship hypothesis
    (2007-11-20) Patil, K. D.; Zade, S. S.; Mohod, A. N.
We investigate the possibility of cosmic censorship violation in the gravitational collapse of radiating dyon solution. We show that the final outcome of the collapse depends sensitively on the electric and magnetic charge parameters. The graphs of the outer apparent horizon, inner Cauchy horizon for different values of parameters have been drawn. It is found that the the electric and magnetic components push the apparent horizon towards the advanced time coordinate axis, which in turn reduces the radius of the apparent horizon in Vaidya space- time. In the present paper we extend the earlier work of A. Chamorro and K. S. Virbhadra.

Nature of the singularities in higher dimensional husain spacetime
    (2006-06-10) Patil, K. D.; Zade, S. S.
We generalize the previous studies of the spherically symmetric gravitational collapse in four dimensional spacetime to higher dimensions. It is found that the central singularities may be naked in higher dimensions but depend sensitively on the choices of the parameters. These naked singularities are found to be gravitationally strong that violate the cosmic censorship hypothesis.

Non-spherical gravitational collapse of strange quark matter
    (2007-03-10) Patil, K. D.; Zade, S. S.; Mohod, A. N.
We study the non-spherical gravitational collapse of the strange quark null fluid. The interesting feature which emerges is that the non-spherical collapse of charged strange quark matter leads to a naked singularity whereas the gravitational collapse of neutral quark matter proceeds to form a black hole. In the present brief report we extend the earlier work of T.Harko and K.S.Cheng to the non-spherical case.

Spherical and non-spherical gravitational collapse in Hussain spacetime
    (2011-06-06) Patil, K. D.; Thool, U. S.
We investigate the nature of singularities arising in Husain solution. We analyze both spherical and non-spherical gravitational collapse in Husain spacetime. An interesting feature that emerges is that gravitational collapse of spherical cosmological Husain solution lead to the formation of naked singularities, while non-spherical cosmological collapse proceeds to form a black hole. Further strength of naked singularities arising in these spacetimes has been analyzed. It is found that these naked singularities are strong in Tipler’s sense.

Spherical and non-spherical gravitational collapse in monopole-anti-de sitter-vaidya spacetime
    (2006-08-10) Patil, K. D.; Thool, U. S.
In the present work, we investigate the influence of the monopole field on the occurrence of the spacetime singularities in the gravitational collapse of anti-de Sitter-Vaidya spacetime. It has been found that the spherically symmetric monopole anti-de Sitter-Vaidya spacetime contradicts the CCH, whereas the non-spherical collapse respects it.
