It is shown that a conformally coupled self-interacting scalar field exhibits spontaneous symmetry breaking in a RW universe. The non-trivial implication of this result to cosmology is discussed. The effective potential in the static space-time is computed to see the effect of one-loop connections. A self-consistent solution is given. In the later part of the paper it is suggested that accelerated frames also have similar effects on the symmetry breaking scheme. Its implications are discussed.enQuantum correctionEffective potentialScalar fieldViolaticnSymmetry breaking in the early universe and accelerated framesArticle
