Narlikar, J. V.2012-03-142012-03-141977-02-23http://hdl.handle.net/11007/1504The conformally invariant theory of Hoyle and Narlikar is applied to two astrophysical scenarios. First it is shown how the existence of zero mass surfaces in the four-dimensional manifold in this theory can lead to black holes and white holes. Next it is shown that the so-called anomalous redshifts of QSOs and galaxies can be understood in terms of local shifts in the zero mass surfaces of this theory. Some observable consequences are discussed.enConformal gravityAstrophysical applicationsTwo astrophysical applications of conformal gravityArticle
