| dc.description.abstract | The statistical description of a system containing a large number of particles which interact via Newtonian gravity is discussed. Such a system exhibits several peculiarities due to the long range, unshielded nature of the gravitational interaction. These features are illustrated using specific examples. Conceptual issues which are still unsettled are highlighted. | en_US |
